Jason has a unique background of high level political, public affairs and media experience.
Jason has worked on a number of high-profile corporate, political and shareholder campaigns.
He has been responsible for providing market research and communications counsel to major Australian and foreign companies across sectors as diverse as financial services, health, resources, information and high technology, education and retail.
Jason holds a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Queensland. He is also a Member of the Australian Market and Social Research Society.
Andres brings with him over a decade of experience across Federal, State and Local government.
Prior to joining The Civic Group, Andres was the Victorian General Manager of a major communications and public relations consultancy. With experience working as an adviser to Federal and State politicians and as Victorian Assistant State Secretary of the Australian Labor Party, Andres has a thorough understanding of campaign techniques and policy making processes.
As a former Councillor and Mayor, Andres has a keen insight into how best to manage Local Government issues, as well as their interplay with other levels of government and the community. This experience has assisted a range of private sector clients, including in the development and infrastructure sectors.
Andres specialises in providing campaign and issues management advice. He has successfully guided a broad range of clients through sensitive and often time critical-issues, including crisis management.
Andres is a graduate of the University of Melbourne with Bachelor degrees in Law and Arts.

With a proven track-record in designing and implementing campaigns that unite media, government and community relations, Rora has provided advice to some of the nation’s most significant infrastructure providers, property developers and government agencies.
During her time working in government, Rora led a departmental public affairs team, acted for a media spokesperson and provided high-level media relations advice to senior bureaucrats and Ministers. She has also provided the communications and public relations function to one of the nation’s fastest growing local government authorities.
More recently, Rora has been responsible for developing large-scale research-informed communications strategies on significant contemporary issues as varied as social cohesion, economic development and infrastructure planning.
Rora holds a Bachelor of Arts (Journalism) from RMIT.
A media relations and issues management specialist, Sam has delivered media strategy for high-profile State and Local government institutions.
Sam has advised CEOs, department executives and ministerial offices across a broad portfolio brief that includes planning and infrastructure, transport, justice policy, compliance and community services.
Prior to joining The Civic Group, Sam coordinated media strategy and tactics for the City of Melbourne, developing and executing creative campaigns for city-shaping projects while managing risks to reputation arising from all aspects of city operations.
He has managed sensitive and high-profile issues as media lead for the Victorian corrections system.
Sam integrates strategic media planning into projects with complex and diverse stakeholder groups and brings a thorough understanding of State and Local government policy process.
Sam holds a Bachelor of Arts (Journalism) from RMIT and a Certificate in Engagement from the International Association of Public Participation (IAP2).
Tom comes to The Civic Group as a highly skilled government relations and communications strategist with longstanding experience across government, industry and business both in Australia and the United Kingdom.
For more than a decade Tom served in a senior advisory capacity in the private offices of several Federal and State Ministers and Leaders. He helped guide the delivery of renowned national public policy reforms and managed complex issue-positioning in a range of portfolio areas including foreign affairs, national security, financial services, workplace relations, agriculture and sport.
At the State Government level, Tom has coordinated strategic communications for the agriculture and resources group of the Victorian Department of Economic Development and previously worked on key trade and policy issues for Australia’s dairy industry.
His skills and experience speak not only to his trusted political instincts and judgement, but also to his expertise and understanding of the winning strategies and tactics needed in high profile campaigns.
Tom holds a Bachelor of Arts (Politics and History) and a Masters (Communication) from Monash University.
Most recently based in the UK, Amalyah comes to The Civic Group with an interest in culture and social behaviour, impressive credentials in the communications field and a strong background in international politics and foreign relations.
During her two-year engagement as a Research Fellow at London-based think tank, The Institute for Statecraft, Amalyah focused on both hybrid warfare and foreign relations in the Indo-Pacific.
In addition to her research capabilities and experience, Amalyah is highly skilled at designing communications workshops and seminars which often involve parties of diverse and conflicting perspectives working together to understand opposing viewpoints and arrive at common ground.
Her wide-ranging experience includes working with respected Communications Agency, Perowne International. She also utilised her media campaign skills to assist in delivering the implementation component of an Integrity Initiative aimed at challenging the proliferation and dissemination of political disinformation.
Amalyah holds a Bachelor of Arts (Archaeology and Anthropology) from the University of Oxford (UK) and is a member of the Youth Atlantic Treaty Association.
Lucy is an experienced public affairs adviser with a detailed knowledge of government and political processes. She has worked for senior Government ministers as well as working in Opposition.
As a former Senior Adviser to a Planning Minister, Lucy has a thorough understanding of Victoria’s planning system, including the policies and issues that influence its operation.
She has a particular interest in growth area planning issues, having managed the 2010 expansion of Melbourne’s Urban Growth Boundary.
During her time in Government, Lucy also managed the Tourism and Major Events portfolio. She was involved in the attraction and retention of major sporting, cultural and business events, as well as the development of key campaigns and strategies to grow the industry.
In addition to her government and political knowledge, Lucy brings to The Civic Group her skills in stakeholder relations, communications and issues management.
Lucy holds a Bachelor of Arts (Media and Communications) from the University of Melbourne and a Certificate in Engagement from the International Association of Public Participation (IAP2).
With almost 20 years in communications consulting, Andrew understands the media, as well how business and Government operate.
Working on a range of national communications and advocacy campaigns with corporate and government clients, Andrew is highly skilled in preparing and implementing integrated communications strategies that deliver results.
Andrew has significant experience in the local government sector, assisting individual councils as well as collectives to achieve outcomes ranging from multi-million dollar funding wins to major policy commitments.
He has also provided advocacy, stakeholder engagement, public relations, government relations, media and issues management and community relations advice to a range of national and state-based clients.
Before entering consulting, Andrew worked as a journalist in Victoria and South Australia for nearly 10 years.
James comes to The Civic Group with an impressive skill set encompassing the entire creative spectrum of digital and print media. A highly accomplished, pixel-perfect designer and full-stack developer of websites and mobile applications, James has designed and delivered projects for a wide range of local, national and international clients in the creative industries – including graphic and website design, web and application development, branding and concept development, motion graphics, animation and games.
Prior to joining The Civic Group, and as one of Australia’s youngest academics, James joined the academic staff at Bond University where, as a Subject Coordinator and Lecturer, he sharpened the skills and broadened the creative minds of future generations of designers, developers and thinkers.
James holds a Bachelor of Multimedia Design (Advertising and Computer Games) and a Bachelor of Information Technology (Web Engineering).
He has also graduated with a Master of Philosophy with a research thesis that explored the phenomenon of freeplay in videogames.
